E-Cigarettes: A Good Help to Quit Smoking?

E-cigarette vs real cigaretteUse of an electronic cigarette or e-cigarette has been touted as a “quick fix” for tobacco smokers and is accordingly very appealing to addicts who would like to avoid the health risks associated with the conventional form of smoking. Its first documented use was in China in 2003, devised by Hon Lik, a pharmacist, though the concept was introduced by Herbert A. Gilbert in 1963. Their claim that it can help with smoking cessation, alleviate the dangers of tobacco, as well as decrease or eliminate the craving for itself or any other addictions, is an ongoing debate.

Considering the special challenges that smoking addicts face, products like these have both advantages and disadvantages. Unlike all other forms of drugs and addictive substances, this product provides addicts or smokers with a measure of safety that can’t be attained otherwise. There are also, however, some disadvantages to this device, particularly its sequestered nature. Because the person smoking is not familiar with the substance inside the e-cigarette, he or she is likely to come away from it with an unrealistic perspective and get back to tobacco smoking.

Stop smokingElectronic cigarette or e-cigarette is basically a product designed to get an addict to change his or her behavior so he or she will , or at least slow down the damage caused by smoking real cigarette. However, even before the addict is accustomed to this modern smoking style, if he or she is exhibiting symptoms of withdrawal, it may be necessary for him or her to go through the process of medical detoxification.

The symptoms range from being uncomfortable to being painful. It’s important to remember that using e-cigarette to help an addict recover is not the same thing as using other medical treatments. Although the eventual outcome always depends on the individual involved, generally speaking it’s fair to say that the results of smoking e-cigarettes is slightly better than the tobacco version.
